The Norse God Oden on Sleipner, his eight legged horse.

Agritourism

In America, agritourism is wide-spread and includes any farm open to the public at least part of the year. Tourists can learn about farm operations, shop in a farm gift shops and farm stands for local and regional produce or hand-crafted items.

At Norse Horse Park there are special breeds of horses, experiences in the wool productions, poultry operations, a garden shop as well as a weekly farmers market for Washington Island. Special emphasis is placed on sustainable agriculture and organic food production.

Norse Horse Park is NOT a petting zoo of tropical animals, but a real horse farm that is focused on the conservation of domesticated animals who come from the Nordic Island countries very much like their home on Washington Island.

While on Washington Island be sure to visit the wonderful Washington Island Farm Museum near by.
